H-3 Visa

Are you interested in training the United States? The H-3 allows you to come to the U.S. and train in almost any discipline. What can I train it? You can train in; Agriculture, technology, communications and governmental leadership to name a few. The H-3 is not for those seeking medical training. However, nurses and medical students on vacation may be eligible for the H-3 Visa.

Can my family join me with my H-3 visa?

Yes. Your spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21 are allowed to join you in the U.S. under the H-4 status. Warning: Family members are not permitted to work while in the U.S. But, they can go to school through the 12th grade (the last year of high school).

What steps do I need to take to receive an H-3 Visa?

You will need the help of your new employer. An employer must petition on behalf of you, the trainee. The employer must provide certain evidence about the training, including a description of the training program, your compensation (if any) and reasons why you need the training. The employer must then submit a petition on Form I-129 with the regional USCIS center that has jurisdiction over the place where the training will be offered.
